HOW DOES IT WORK?
The Government new ‘First Homes’ scheme will be able to benefit from discounted new homes for First time buyers
The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government has launched a consultation into the scheme which will allow first time buyers the opportunity to purchase a new build home in their local area at a 30% discount. Key workers providing frontline public sector services including health, education and community safety will be given priority, along with serving members and veterans of the Armed Forces, and local authorities will be able to set higher discounts if they want to.

WHY SHOULD I get a MORTGAGE?
CAN A REMORTGAGE BE CHEAPER?
Probably the main reason to remortgage is that you may want to is to raise money. It could be your current deal is about to end and want a better rate.
If the value of your home’s has gone up.
The director of mortgages at trade body UK Finance, Jackie Bennett, says: “Buying a home locally can be a big consideration for house buyers, but sometimes the prices are simply out of reach. The new scheme is a great move by the government to mend this problem and we are looking forward to working with them to finalise the details and help house hunters become homeowners – in their own neighbourhood.”
Before you start to look for a property, you should decide on the area. It is a very important decision you make: if you get it wrong you will either be unhappy with where you live or face the costs of moving home again.
Why is looking for a new area difficult?
If you want to move to a property close to where you already live, there is not much to decide. However, if you decide to move to a different area, then deciding the area is more difficult. It will take time to get to know a new area well enough to know whether you would like to live there.
